Douglas D. Drinan, 73, the "Leader of our Band", a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully on 16 January 2003 at home in Sun Lakes Arizona.
The family patriarch leaves behind his wife of more than 49 years Marcella (Sudoma), six children (Tresa, Cynthia, Patricia, Daniel, Darrel and Douglas James), 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of which were his "Favorite".
He was born 25 November 1930 in Morris, Illinois and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 through 1955. He was married to Marcella in Streator, Illinois on 5 July 1954. In 1970 he moved his family from Illinois to a sleepy little town, Scottsdale Arizona, where he and his wife provided a wonderful home for his children and grandchildren to grow up.
Services were held at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 24827 South Dobson Road, Sun Lakes AZ 85248. Internment at the Valley of the Sun Cemetery in Chandler AZ.
