LUECKE, JR., Christian John

Christian John Luecke Jr. (Chris), 59 from Peoria, passed away December 13th, 2003, after a long battle with COPD. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana on February 19th, 1944. His parents were Christian and Mary Luecke of Riverside, California. He moved to Mesa in the late 60's, and worked in the tire business, as well as raced quarter horses with his partner Clark Jenkins also of Mesa. He spent a few years in the Army and toured Vietnam. He was a staff Sgt. and an E-6. He was awarded a silver star, bronze star, and air medal. He was preceded in death by his mother, and leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Robin Luecke of Peoria, and 4 step children. The memorial services were held at the home with family members and friends on the 19th of December after cremation. He was respected and loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
