Death Claims Buck Jackson
Ezra (Buck) Jackson, who spent 63 of his 74 years in the Kirkland
valley, and brother of C. C. Jackson, county Supervisor, died in the
Pioneer’s Home here last night. He had been a guest in the home
since May 1938.
Born in Santa Rosa, Calif., Jackson came to Kirkland valley with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sol Jackson, pioneer ranchers, in 1875. He
was ten years old at that time. The greater part of his life was
spent on or near the Jackson ranch property.
Besides his brother, Jackson is survived by three sisters, Mrs.
Pearl J. Ritter of Kirkland; Mrs. F. B. Comfort of Los Angeles, and
Mrs. Clair Robbins of Tampa, Fla. Jackson had never been married.
Funeral services will be from the Lester Ruffner Funeral Home,
Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. Charles Franklin
Parker, pastor of the Congregational church officiating.
Burial will be in the family plot of the Citizen’s cemetery.

Service For Ezra Jackson Saturday
Ezra (Buck) Jackson, 74-year-old Yavapai county pioneer who died
Tuesday night at the Pioneer’s Home, will be laid at rest in the
family plot in the Citizens cemetery her after the 10:30 o’clock
services Saturday morning at the Lester Ruffner Funeral Home, at
which the Rev. Charles Franklin Parker of the First Congregational
church will officiate.
Jackson, brother of Clarence C. Jackson, Yavapai county supervisor,
was born in Santa Rose, Calif., October 12, 1866, and was brought to
the Kirkland valley by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sol Jackson, when a
small boy. He had spent almost his entire life in the valley,
living there until May of last year, when he entered the Pioneer’s
Home.
In addition to his brother, Jackson is survived by three sisters,
Mrs. Pearl J. Ritter of Kirkland, Mrs. F. B. Comfort of Los Angeles,
and Mrs. Clair Robbins of Tampa, Fla.
Pallbearers who will serve at the rites tomorrow will include Lois
J. Hasselfeld, Charles Rigden, Earl Solpher, Rev. Hayes, Chester
Shuppe and Charles M. Riebeling.

Note: Ezra is buried at the Citizen's Cemetery in Prescott, Az., but
no known headstone has been found.
