West Resthaven Funeral Home Glendale, Arizona Eloy Borrego Gutierrez Sr. October 29, 1918 - November 5, 2011 Gutierrez Sr., Major Eloy Borrego Major Eloy Borrego Gutierrez, Sr. of Glendale, AZ passed away in peace at his home on Nov 5, 2011. He was born in Hurley, NM on Oct 29, 1918 graduated from Deming, NM High School. He attended the University of New Mexico and enlisted in the Army Air Corps serving our country for 27 years before retiring. As a civilian he worked for Sperry Flight Systems as an Air Traffic Controller. Eloy loved to fly! He is survived by his wife Betty Jo, son Eloy Gutierrez II, daughters Martha Gutierrez, Marcie Gutierrez Hillan, Maria Beatrice Stanford (Stan), & stepchildren Cindy Schaider (Steve) and Craig McCann (Adella). He is preceded in death by his daughter Marjorie Josephine Mulsow. He also leaves behind his brother Arnold and sister Josephine. Grandchildren Martina, Marlena, Mickyle, Travis, Matthew, Holden, Eloy III, Khai and 3 great grandchildren, Aiden, Abigail, & Nicholas. Also surviving Eloy are many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was dearly loved by all and our memories of him will be treasured forever. B.D.O.E. R.I.P Gpa. A Celebratory Mass will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Louis the King Catholic Church, 4331 W. Maryland Ave. Graveside Air Force Honors immediately following Mass at Resthaven Park Cemetery 6450 W. Northern Ave. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley , whose kindness and help was immeasurable.
