Anton Henry (Hank) Bisjak, age 89, born Jan. 24, 1917, in Chino Valley, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at a local care home.
A celebration of Hank’s life will be Thursday, Dec. 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott.
The family has requested that memorials be made to the Yavapai Silent Witness Organization, C/O Steve Skurja, at the Prescott Police Department, P.O. Box 2059, Prescott, Ariz., 86302.

The oldest native of Chino Valley, A.H. "Hank" Bisjak, died Dec. 15, 2006, at a local care home. He was born in Chino Valley on Jan. 24, 1917, to Anton Henry Bisjak and Sophia (Banyay) Bisjak.
Hank graduated from Prescott High School in 1935. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1938 to 1946. He was a bus driver for the Trailways Bus Company for a number of years and a farmer for many years in Chino Valley.
Hank was a member of the Legislature from 1949 to 1954 and served on the Town Council in Chino Valley from 1985 to 1995. He was also very active in the Democratic Party. He was very involved in Chino Valley's growing years. He was on the Board of Directors of Yavapai Silent Witness for 17 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a pilot.
Hank is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and John Hunt; brother Gil and daughter-in-law Ann Bisjak of Chino Valley; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Yavapai Silent Witness, c/o Steve Skurja, Prescott Police Department, P.O. Box 2059, Prescott, AZ 86302.
The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
