Michael D. Steveson ‘Pigmy’ of Prescott, passed away on July 5, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. He was 52.
Mike was born Dec. 29, 1953, in Peoria, Ill., to Lawrence and Betty Steveson. He was the youngest of five children. He resided in the Peoria area for over half of his life. In 1987, he moved his family to Prescott.
He was employed as an auto body and paint tech, then as a chef at Nolaz restaurant.
Mike's love of his family was apparent to all. He was a member of the Smoki People and the American Red Cross.
Mike is survived by his ex-wife,Beth Steveson of Prescott Valley; their daughters Laura LaBelle of Prescott Valley, Erica Burke and Sadie Steveson of Prescott, and Rachel and Carrie Steveson of Prescott Valley; as well as seven grandchildren.
Mike is also survived by his father, Lawrence Steveson of Eureka, Ill.; sisters Joanne Utt, Sandy Wiese, and Cathy Lenover; and brother Ron Steveson, all from the Peoria, Ill. area.
Mike's love of family, friends, good times and rock-n-roll will never be forgotten.
Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Private cremation. A gathering of family and friends will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the Smoki Pueblo, 147 N. Arizona St., Prescott, Ariz.
