HOUGH, Robert Michael (Mike)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, July 21, 2006 Robert Michael Hough, age 54, died on July 15, 2006, in Prescott, Ariz. "Mike" is survived by his wife Nancy; children, Matthew and Courtney of Prescott, Micah Hough and family of Loveland, Colo., Misty DeLao and family of Tyrone, Okla.; parents, Robert and Juanita Hough of Woodward, Okla.; brother, Danny, Pam and family of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Debbie Newby and family of Houston, Texas; and Deanna Hough and family of Woodward, Okla. Mike proudly served 20 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a 1st Sergeant in 1992. He served his country during Desert Storm/Shield 1990-1991 with the 1st Calvary Division D Troop in Army Aviation. Mike received numerous awards and commendations including a Bronze Star for meritorious service. In 1995, he began his second career at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the Flight Maintenance and Records Department. Mike's love, dedication and sacrifice for his country were only surpassed by his love for his family and children. Mike never met a stranger and could often be found in conversation with those around him. Mike also enjoyed woodworking and all kinds of athletic events. Burial will be in Texline, Texas, on July 22, 2006, at 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held in Prescott, Ariz., on July 31, 2006, at 3 p.m. at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Flight Line in the maintenance hanger. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mike's honor to an Embry-Riddle Scholarship Fund to honor the university, faculty and students that were so important to him.
