The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, July 5, 2006 Michael, born July 26, 1982, died at age 23 on June 18, 2006, at his home in Forest Hills, N.Y. Michael attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Prescott, Arizona and St.Gregory's College Preparatory in Tucson, where he was on the Debate Team and French Club. He received honors during the YMCA Model Youth Legislature program and interned at the University of Arizona's Experimental Economics Lab. During these years, he was a member of the Show Dog Owner/Handler Association. At Columbia University in the City of New York, Michael was a me ber/officer of Alpha Delta Phi Society and a research assistant at the Krantz Psychology Lab. In 2005, he was honorably conferred his Bachelor of Arts Degree. After graduation, he was employed at the executive offices of Steve and Barry's Clothing, Inc., in Long Island, NY. This poet, pianist, avid computer gamer, and sci-fi enthusiast will be remembered by his family, friends and teachers for how his brilliant mind would ponder, question and challenge prevailing opinions in science and philosophy, often with wry humor. But most of all, we will remember this quiet man with great pride for his perseverance through difficult times and his stalwart and tolerant heart which loved so deeply. We love him endlessly and say farewell only until we are with him again. Michael was the cherished son of Mike Charles and Cindy DiNardo Thrall of Asheboro, N.C. He is also survived by his grandmother Christiane DiNardo; uncles Francis DiNardo and wife Virginia Collins of N.C. and Gary DiNardo of Ariz.; aunts Nancy Schniedewind and husband Ned of Colo.; MaryAnn Lochner and husband Francis of N.Y.; and MaryMargaret Mover of Kansas; and 11 cousins. A Memorial Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb, Tucson, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, Piedmont Triad Chapter, 1401-B Old Mill Circle, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
