CREMA, John Augustine


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, October 25, 2006 John Augustine Crema, age 86 passed away October 22,2006, at the Bob Stump VA Medical Center, in Prescott, Ariz., John was born in Nashwauk, Minn. on July 27, 1920, to Louis and Carolina Crema. During WWII, he served his country as a P38 Lightning aircraft instrument mechanic for the 459th Twin Dragon Fighter Squadron in Chittagong, India. He was an avid bowler, a member of the American Legion Westphal Post and an Honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, Crystal Minn. John owned Cremas' Conoco in Robinsdale, Minn., for 26 years with his brother Peter Crema. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lois Ley Crema. John is survived by his daughter, Dr. Kathryn Crema (Linda Bullock-Roper); brother Peter Crema (Bonnie), grandchildren, Brendan Driscoll (Laureen), Brigid Driscoll, Meghan Driscoll; and great-grandchildren Jeremiah, Brendan Jr., Gabriel, Valentina and Caleb. John was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who was known for his heart of gold and his smile will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the VA hospital staff for the loving care they gave him. A celebration, of life service will be at noon on October 26, 2006, at the Bob Stump VA chapel.
