MEARS, Ronald C.

Ronald C. Mears. Ron passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2004. He had two speeds: full steam ahead and stop. After surviving pancreatic cancer for two and a half years, his body finally had to give in. But Ron's spirit never did. Born in Los Angeles, CA, he visited every country in the world except three. It taught him such an appreciation for people and for their courage and persistence. He used to tell us that he knew more useless trivia than anyone! Fond of a great story, he could keep us laughing or enchanted for hours. Ron brought out the best in everyone he met and demanded the same of himself. He was a talented cook, probably has his own TV show in heaven, "Ronnie Live"; could turn a patch of dirt into a creation of breathtaking beauty; could sell ice to the Eskimos; and charmed the heart out of us all. He is so missed already by the love of his life, Margaret; his sweet mother, Elaine, step dad, Richard; brother Marvin, wife Janet; his children, Randi, wife Renae; Sandra, husband Bart; son Jeff; daughter Kim, husband Lee; son, Kelly; Yasha and Elia too; grandchildren Macie, Regis, Cameron, Amanda, Morgan, Austin, Denver, DaVon and Darrien and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of his life was held on Friday, January 30th, at Lakeview United Methodist Church, 103rd Ave & Thunderbird. Ross Parrott in charge. Contributions in his name may be made to Boys & Girls Clubs of Phx, attn: Bridget McDonald or to Bank One Account #8192166. Many thanks to all for your uplifting support.
