The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, June 28, 2007 Melba Rice, a Chino Valley resident since 1988, passed away June 24, 2007. Mrs. Rice was a Chino Valley Food Bank volunteer for many years and an ardent animal lover. Earlier, in California, she worked in the medical field, ran a printing and design shop with her husband and served as a police matron with the Newark, California Police Department. Survivors include her husband, Burt Rice and daughter, Anne Dressell, both of Chino Valley; son, Kenneth Rice of Jasper, Alberta; brothers Donald Loren of Vancouver, B.C. and Arthur, Kenneth, and Reginald Loren, all of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
