WEBER, Walter Victor


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, December 24, 2006 Walter V. Weber, 97, of Prescott, was born Nov. 28, 1909, in Drynob, Mo., and died on Dec. 13, 2006, in Prescott, Ariz. He started his formal education in a one-room rural schoolhouse in Oakland, Mo., graduated from high school in Lebanon, Mo., then on to various schools of higher education. Walter was owner of the Firestone Tire Store in Concordia, Kan., for many years. Walter moved to Prescott, Ariz., in the early1960s and managed the Rasco five and dime retail store in downtown Prescott. In 1972, he founded Weber's Insurance Service, which continues its operation today on Gurley Street. He enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting and his recreational vehicles. He was a member at the Prescott Community Church. He held offices for the local Methodist Church. Walter was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Kiwanis Club. Walter is survived by sons, Walter Victor Weber Jr. of Maui, Hawaii, and John Alan Weber of Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Alma Mae Weber; son Steven E. Weber; brother Paul Weber; and sister Evelyn Weber. A celebration of life service will take place on Dec. 29, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Prescott Community Church. The family suggests that memorials be made to Prescott Community Church, 3151 Willow Creek Road, Prescott, AZ, 86301. Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
