Marshall Lee Riley was born on May 21, 1979. He was born to Murphy Commanche of Whiteriver, Ariz. and Sandra Pike Lupe of Bylas, Ariz.
Marshall entered into rest Oct. 31, 2011 at the family home in San Carlos, Ariz.
Marshall attended Whiteriver Headstart in 1984 and was crowned Headstart Prince at that time. In 1994 he graduated 8th grade at San Carlos Junior High. Marshall moved back to Whiteriver and graduated from Alchesay High School in 1998.
While living in Whiteriver with his Dad, he enjoyed riding his bike, fishing and was very fond of semi-trucks. He always had fun with his friends and hung out with them a lot.
He worked at Honda Casino after his high school graduation for a few years. He always moved back and forth from Whiteriver and San Carlos. He had the privilege of having many loving friends from both reservations. He very much enjoyed playing his Xbox with his cousins in Bylas. He loved music and his cars. He always had fun attending country dances and has had many dancing partners. Marshall was a part of the Apache Society Singing group. He always looked forward to the traditional ceremonies and camp singing on weekends.
He was the oldest of two brothers and four sisters. He enjoyed his nieces and nephews very much. He was always there when they wanted someone to talk to. He was very close with Heidi and Lydale. He always showed them tuff love at the moments they needed it, the love that reminded them to suck it up and deal with life.
Marshall left behind brothers, Mario Riley of Whiteriver and Lydale Goseyun of San Carlos; step-brother, Calvin Nosie of Whiteriver, Ariz.; sisters, Sherilynn Lorenzo of Bylas, Hannah Goseyun, Danielle Goseyun and Heidi Goseyun of San Carlos; nieces, Maria Riley, Autumn Riley, Kāalejo Riley, Kwielin Goseyun and Kishori Barlow; and two nephews, Lais Lorenzo and Tayen Lorenzo.
