Carroll Shreve passed away in peace at the age of 72 on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Joyce; daughter, Carol Ann Maseline (husband Paul); three sons, Steve Lane, Eric Shreve (wife Carolina), and David Lane (wife Lori); eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, (Rex and Richard Shreve) and sister (Mary Trammell) as well as, numerous other family members.
Carroll was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Shreve; father, Rev Rueben R Shreve; sister, Ruby Shreve; and most recently his brother, Heber Shreve.
Carroll loved life and was upbeat and fun. "Whenever asked how he was, his answer was always “SUPER.” His favorite saying was “get ‘er done.”
He was born and raised in Arkansas, where he learned early to fish, hunt and love the outdoors.
Carroll and Joyce lived in Sierra Vista, Arizona for 30 years until retirement. They raised their family there, where Carroll had several business ventures including Sierra Vista Auto Sales with business partner Lee Knaeble.
After retirement, he and Joyce spent five winters at Roosevelt Lake and then moved to Roosevelt, Arizona in 2000. These last 11 years were extremely happy ones.
He loved his Lord, his family, and his Church, where he was very active and treasurer. He helped build the new sanctuary at Roosevelt Baptist Church. He loved to help people. He volunteered for many repair and remolding projects for community families. Carroll will be greatly missed by all those who have been blessed to know him.
A “Celebration of Life” service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Roosevelt Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Roosevelt Baptist Church.
