BURINGTON, Rex Alan


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, December 13, 2006 Rex Alan Burington died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott. Rex was born Sept. 7, 1928,in Hawarden, Iowa, the son of Cobum J. and Leona (Babcock) Burington. Rex was 78 years old. Rex started out working with his father at the Hawarden Gravel Co. He moved to Arizona in 1960, where he built and operated the Triple T Mobile Home Park in Glendale, Ariz. As a young cadet in the United States Air Force, Rex developed a love of flying that lasted all through his life. He enjoyed piloting his own plane, especially on hunting trips to Idaho. A great sportsman, he particularly enjoyed hunting with his German short-hair pointers. He is survived by Thelma, his wife of 37 years; daughters Sandy (Ron) Gantz and Carol Webb and granddaughter Amy, all of Flagstaff; sister Donna Blaue and nephew Mike Blaue, both of Ottawa, Kansas; and aunt Jean Burington of Carlsbad, Calif. Rex was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce; his first wife, Erma Peterson; his parents; and aunt Helen Rasmussen. Private cremation will be at Bradshaw Crematory.
