The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, December 12, 2006 Kathleen Leona McCall Speck was born June 18, 1917, in Moberly, Missouri, and died December 7, 2006, in Prescott, Arizona. Kathleen, most fondly known as Kay, attended Moberly High School and Junior College and graduated from St. Louis University School of Nursing, St Louis, Missouri. From 1941 to 1943 Kathleen served as a nurse in the United States Navy and served in the Naval Reserves from 1943 to 1951. After her active duty in military service, Kathleen was head of obstetric nursing in 1955 at Audrain County Hospital in Mexico, Missouri, and established the Audrain School of Practical Nursing in 1956. Kathleen moved to the Prescott area in 1957 with her husband, Byron McCall, who preceded her in death. Here in Prescott Kathleen was a public school nurse. She established the School of Practical Nursing in the Prescott High School and she was a clinical instructor at Yavapai College as well. Kathleen was a parishioner of St. Germaine's Catholic Church in Prescott Valley and a faithful member of a Monday Rosary Group. Kay loved golf, playing cards and socializing with friends. She was a member of Mi Casa Es Su Casa. Kathleen was also preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Charles Speck; and a brother, Jack Lankford, of St. Louis. Kay is survived by her daughter, Kim; son, Mark; a sister, Alice Rudy of Denver; and a brother, Dr. Harold Lankford, of Mexico, Missouri. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
