Eugene Edward Lee, Eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Lee, of American Ranch, died at the residence of Mayor Kelly this morning of Bright’s disease of the kidneys, contracted some years since while on a visit to the East with his parents, and superventing upon a severe attack of scarlet fever.
Eddie Lee was the first white boy born in Prescott, the date of his birth being March 7th, 1865. He was a bright, intelligent boy and gave promise of a useful and honorable manhood, had not the fell destroyer singled him out as an early victim. The parents, in their deep distress, have the unfeigned sympathy of this entire body.

The remains of this industrious, hones and much respected youth were consigned yesterday, the 19th day of December, to their last resting place. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. G. H. Adams from the Marina Street Church, a large concourse of people, friends of the parents and of the deceased, being present. Mr. Adams preached an able and appropriate sermon upon this sad occasion. He alluded in feeling words to the virtues and goodness of poor Eddie, who was so suddenly called from this to a brighter home beyond the clouds.
The pall- bearers were of young men still in their teens who regarded the deceased with admiration for his many noble traits of character.
Eddie Lee was the first male child born in Prescott, and who would had he lived until the coming March, have completed his sixteenth year.
In every sense of the word an Arizona boy, and a better or more faithful one never lived. None knew him but to like him.
In the sudden taking away of Eddie, Mr. and Mrs. Lee are deprived of a dutiful and loving son, this community of an upright, intelligent young man, whose memory will long be cherished by all who knew him.
