Evelyn M. Strickland, born Nov. 1, 1926, in Rockfalls, Illinois, passed away on Dec. 16, 2006 in Prescott, Arizona, after a long illness. She was the daughter of Stacey and Mary Whipple.
Evelyn lived most of her life in Illinois. She married Edward Strickland in May of 1945 and moved to Inglewood, California in 1973. Evelyn moved to Chino Valley, Arlz. In l987 following her husband's death where she has resided since.
Evelyn loved her Bingo, fishing and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She touched everyone's life she knew and everyone loved her.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; an infant child, Edward Thomas Strickland; sisters Margaret Dunston, Dorothy Whitworth, Vivian Janssen, and Sylvia Dahler; and brothers Fred Johnson, Dannie Johnson and Stacey Whipple.
Evelyn is survived by one sister, Doris Felton; three sons, Jack, Don and Jerry Strickland; one daughter, Carol Correnti; a stepson, Thomas Strickland; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Chino Valley, Arizona.
