The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, October 8, 2006 Edna Mills, 96 of Prescott, Ariz., passed away October 5, 2006, at the Arizona Pioneers' Home in Prescott, Ariz. She was born April 4, 1910, in Prague, Oklahoma, the daughter of pioneering Oklahoma settlers who relocated to Arizona in 1914. Her father was a Zanjaro for Salt River Project and they resided at Lateral 21 (83rd Avenue) and "L" Road (now Bethany Home Road) in Phoenix. She was a graduate of historic Pendergast Elementary School and Tolleson High School in Arizona. She worked as a department manager for 35 years for the Newberry store in downston Phoenix. She has resided in Prescott at the Arizona Pioneers' Home for the past eight years. Edna and Clarence lived many years in Yarnell, Ariz., all of their married life, except when they moved to the Arizona Pioneers' Home June 24, 1998. She was preceded in death by her first husband William Kent and husband Clarence Mills; parents Ervin G. and Eunice L. (Hodge) Bryan;sisters Grace Fiscus and Nova Yaney; brothers Qrville and Cecil Bryan. Survivors include nephews, Dennis (Carol) Ficus, Gary Yancy (the late Bobbi), Farrell (Paula Yancy, Darryl (Vera) Self; nieces Janelle Zagrean, Carroyl Self, Charlene Fiscus, Marcia (Fred) Miller; and brother and sister-in-law Orland C. (Dorothy A.) Mills. A memorial service will be Saturday, October 14, 2006, at 1 p.m. at the Arizona Pioneers' Home Chapel at 300 S. McCormick St., Prescott, Ariz. with Reverend Paul Jones of Yarnell, Ariz., officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Arizona Pioneers' Home in remembrance of Edna.
