WEST, Hugh

Hugh West, 71, went to be with his Lord on January 24, 2004. He was born October 14, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan. He moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1960 where he resided with his wife Marilyn. Hugh started his teaching career at West High School in 1967 and eventually retired from Carl Hayden High School in 1994. He also worked as a pharmacist from 1958 to 1989. Hugh is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marilyn, his son Timothy and his daughter Tammy (Cupp). He also will be missed by his six grandchildren, Amanda Cupp (12), Matthew West (10), Carleigh Cupp (10), Andrew West (9), Reilly Cupp (7) and Amy West (7). A viewing was held on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Sunland Memorial Park Mortuary at 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. A funeral service was held on January 29, 2004 at Palmcroft Baptist Church at 15825 N. 35th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. Published in the Arizona Republic on 1/27/2004.
