BROWN, Harold W. (Brownie)


Harold W. Brown "Brownie", 78, passed away peacefully at home on 1/26/04. He was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He later moved to Illinois where he worked at the Seneca Ship Yards. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in 0kinawa, Japan and was wounded. He received the Purple Heart and other citations. After his marriage to Irene they moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1946. He worked at Mehagians for 16 years. Then he and his wife Irene opened their own business, H.W. Brown Appliance. He later retired in 1985. He is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Irene, son Gary Brown (Bonnie), daughters Pamela Layland (Neil), Peggy (deceased) also grandson Eric Brown and granddaughters Jennifer Romano and Tammy Caison. He was a life long member of DAV #1, where he served 15 years as the Sargeant of Arms. As per Brownie's request there will be no services or viewing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Rude Family Northwest Mortuary assisted the family in their hour of need.
