COOPER, Minna Louise (Bobbie)

Minna Louise (Bobbie) Cooper. Our mother and best friend Passed away on January 20 with her family at her side. She is surely strolling through heaven! Bobbie was born to Eda Kay and Clarence Morgan on November 21, 1913, in Spanaway, Washington. She spent her youth in Missouri and then ventured west with her new husband Leon to raise her family in Arizona where she joined the First Baptist Church in 1943 at 3rd Avenue and Monroe. Being blessed, she became a blessing to all who came in contact with her. Friends, family and acquaintances were uplifted by her loving spirit. She spent her life dedicated to Christ, the First Baptist Church of Phoenix, and her three children, Marjorie Suzanne (Suzi Q), Nancy Jane Cooper Bennett and Leon "Butch" Cooper, her ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Bobbie was forever active in church and family activities. Though living with a physical disability for over fifty years she always strived to learn more, accomplish more, and pray for more and for everyone around her. She will be missed forever by everyone who knew her. The family thanks the people who cared for her at Orangewood Retirement Center and Sonoran Rehabilitation and at Hospice of Arizona, and everyone who visited, called and prayed for her. Thank you Mom, for all you have done and been. A celebration of Bobbie's life was held on January 31 at First Baptist Church, 7000 North Central Avenue, Phoenix. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Kingdom Online Ministry, or Bennett Academy. Published in the Arizona Republic from 1/28/2004 - 1/29/2004.
