Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Saturday, November 19, 2011 Patrick James Benford Sr. Age 69 passed away November 13, 2011. Longtime resident of Flagstaff, AZ he is survived by his loving family; 4 sons and 2 daughters, Patty, Jim, Patrick Jr., Cheere, Joshua & Jeremiah - as well as 16 grandchildren, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Ashley, Carlos, Destiny, Sadie, Sean, Shane, Christopher, Julian, Joshua, Maya, Taylor, Taya, Curtis & Carly. One Great Granddaughter "Aaliyah", and his beloved sister Shirley. Pat was born March 8, 1942 to James Curtis Benford and Bette Reider (Benford) Schafer in Saginaw Michigan. All throughout his life Pat was drawn to music, it was his true love. He traveled all over the country just so he could play bluegrass and make others happy. As an accomplished Dobroplayer, Pat was able to play music with some of the best in the business! He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. We will see you in heaven Pat (Dad), playing your music with the angels. To my family and friends, please be thankful today, I am still close beside you in a new special way, I love you all dearly, now don't shed a tear cause I'm spending my Christmas with Jesus this year.
