Howard Urban Taylor, 83, of Prescott, born Sept. 23, 1923, in Bradford, Pa., died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, in Scottsdale.
Services will take place at noon Saturday, Dec. 9 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 630 Park Ave., Prescott.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Yavapai Regional Medical Development or the Christian Education Fund, Trinity Presbyterian Church, 630 Park Ave., Prescott, Ariz.

Howard Urban Taylor, 83, of Prescott, Ariz., died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Howard was born Sept. 23,1923, to Mabel Urban Taylor and George Mason Taylor in Bradford, Pa.
He attended Custer City Grade School and graduated from Bradford, Pa. High School in 1941.
In 1937 he went to Washington, D.C., to the first Boy Scout Jamboree; later, he was the Scoutmaster for his sons' troops. After serving four years in the U.S. Army in WW II in the European Theatre, he enrolled in Alfred University, the New York College of Ceramics.
In 1948, he and Peggy were married, and in 1950 he graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Ceramic Engineer. He was hired by Central Lab - a part of Globe Union - and later by Johnson Control in Milwaukee. After 26 years, he transferred to LA. under North American Philips until 1985.
Upon retirement, Howard and Peggy moved to Prescott and happily became involved in the community.
His hobbies were building an experimental airplane in his Milwaukee home and flying it for several years and restoring classic Packard cars.
Howard was proud to belong to the Sunrise Lions Club, on boards of United Way and the Blind Center and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. He especially enjoyed being "parent" to many exchange students, and he loved to travel and enjoy God's creations in nature.
One place he loved was Robson's Mining World where he restored several small motors for the museum. He was also a member of the Campaign Committee of Yavapai Regional Medical Center and Pendleton Wellness Center.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a son, George L Taylor in 2000.
He is survived by his Dear wife Margaret (Peggy) of 58 years; a son, Dr. Will (Mary) Taylor and children, Ben and Caleb, of Oregon; daughters Diana (Stan) Kulfan and children Christina and Mike, of Massachusetts, Margot (Dr. Tim) Wilcox and children, Taylor and Rachel, of Montana; sister Polly (Dave) Walter and son Jim, of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law Orrie T. Patton and children, Barbara, Peter and Brnce of Massachusetts; and sister-in-law Connie (Bob) Rosequist, of Florida.
Howard was a gentle man - honest, thoughtful, successful and humble.
A celebration of his life will be at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 630 Park Ave., Prescott, at noon on Dec. 9. 2006. The Rev. Duncan MacLeod will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to YRMC Foundation, Willow Creek Road, or to Trinity Presbyterian Church Education Fund.
