She was born on March 8, 1940, in Bridgeman, Mich., to Emil and Thelma (Spears) Yanke. Dodie, as she was known to her loved ones, was a loving and caring lady who always looked out for others to make sure they were cared for. She married her beloved husband, Michael C. Burkett, Oct. 7, 1961, in Tucson. Together they made Lake Havasu City their home 15 years ago, coming from Livermore, Calif. Dodie and Mike raised their family in Livermore, keeping their children active in sports and spending quality time camping with family in the summer months as well as enjoying boating and water skiing.
