PEZIM,
Norman
Norman Pezim, of Scottsdale, Arizona, formerly of Toronto, Canada, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2004.
Norman was born and raised in Toronto in 1918 to Isadore and Rebecca Pezim, who had emigrated from Rumania.
He shared his early life with older sisters Rose and Francis, and younger brother Murray.
Norman was an ambitious young man who had his business plans interrupted by the outbreak of war. Though a peaceloving man, he soon joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served as a communications officer where he distinguished himself, weathering the storm of D-day and other major battles.
In May of 1943, he married Helen Kriger of Fenelon Falls, Ontario, and they remained happily together for over sixty years.
After the war, Norman developed a flourishing printing and publishing business, finally "retiring" in the late seventies to Scottsdale where he continued to work for almost 20 more years.
Norman is survived by, and will be greatly missed by, his wife Helen, his two sons: Larry (Helene) and Stephen (Judy); his grandchildren: Eric, Ryan, Rachel, and Daniel; his step-grandchildren: Katherine and Suzanne Andrew.
Services were Sunday, February 1st, at the Sinai Mortuary Chapel, 4538 16th Street North in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Center of Arizona (407 West Osborn Road, Phoenix AZ 85013) will be greatly appreciated.
