Michael D. Thompson, 36, Topeka, Kansas, died Tues, Jan. 27, 2004 at the Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center. The Funeral Liturgy was Sat., Jan. 31, 2004, at the Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th, Overland Park, KS; Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Visitation was at the Porter funeral home, Lenexa, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the KNI Benefit Fund, 3107 SW 21st Street, Topeka, KS 66604. Michael was born May 29, 1967, in Evanston, IL and has lived in Kansas City and Topeka since 1978. He was a member of the Church of the Ascension. Survivors include his father David Thompson, Tempe, AZ; his mother Marcia Valenzeno and her husband Dennis, Overland Park, KS; 3 brothers Jonathan Thompson, Redwood City, CA; Daniel Thompson, Kansas City, MO; Matthew Valenzeno, Holton, KS; a sister Laura Scheinholtz, Madison, WI; and step-grandparents Peter and Ellen Valenzeno, Shawnee, KS; and his loving extended family and caregivers at the Kansas Neurological Institute in Topeka.
