DENIS, Zyah Joseph

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, June 20, 2007 Zyah Joseph Denis, 6, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and formerly of Waterville, Maine, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine, surrounded by his loving family. Zyah was born in Waterville on Nov. 21, 2000, the son of Casey Denis and fiance Craig Perkins, and Mourad Jdaini. He was attending Liberty Traditional School in Prescott Valley. Zyah was a charming, beautiful little boy with lots of energy and love that he loved to give everyone. Momma's little boy loved to build things and all he needed was a hammer and some nails. He just graduated from kindergarten and he learned so much and loved school. His grandpa and grandmother took him fishing and camping, and he was the only one to catch any fish. The first thing he wanted to do when he woke up in the morning was to call his memere, and he would talk about helping his memere plant flowers and build her rock wall. He enjoyed Tae Kwon Do, monster trucks, digging in the dirt, drawing, playing on his computer, and beating mommy and daddy in a game of Trouble. He was just learning how to ride his new bike like a big boy without training wheels. He looked forward to going to work with his pepere and daddy Craig. He was predeceased by maternal great-grandfather Chester Levesque. Zyah is survived by his loving mother and father, Casey Denis and Craig Perkins of Prescott Valley, and his father Mourad Jdaini of Phoenix, Ariz.; his maternal grandmother Sherry Denis Levesque of Waterville; maternal grandfather Larry Denis and his wife Lynne of Prescott Valley; paternal grandparents Najem and Zohra Jdaini of Rabat, Morocco; maternal great-grandmother Mona Stedman and her husband Al of Waterville; his stepsister Heather Perkins of Fairfield, Maine; his uncles Chad and Zack Denis of Waterville; special cousins Kora Mae, Treston and Quinn; cousin and best buddy Cameron Denis; and many other aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pleasant Street, Waterville, Maine. An account has been set up with Desert Hills Bank for the benefit of Zyah Denis to help with burial and medical expenses.
