Owen B. Brown died Oct. 15, 2006, at his home in Prescott. He was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Huntington Park, Calif., the son of Bruce F. and Elisa (Dorrance) Brown. Owen was 88 years old.
Owen proudly served his country in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II.
Owen and Cordelia (Dee Dee) enjoyed their retirement years in Prescott. On every September 1, Owen could be found dove hunting. He enjoyed target shooting, hunting, traveling with Dee Dee, golf and tennis. He was a member of the La Jolla Presbyterian Church, Prescott Sportsmen Club, and the NRA.
Owen was a loving and thoughtful man, and upon his marriage to Dee Dee in 1971, he became a wonderful father; especially enjoying spoiling the girls.
Owen is survived by his wife, Dee Dee; sons Allen Brown (Leslie) and Rodney Carter (Janet); daughters Katharine, Christina and Patricia Carter, and AnneMarie (Ken) Haywood; his brother, Bruce (Louise) and sister, Dorothy Smith; grandchildren, Daniel, Rebekah, Paul, Sarah, and Hannah; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Logan.
Owen was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara; son, Stuart Brown; and stepson, John Carter.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29, at the family home.
The family suggests memorials to either: Hospice Family Care, 100 Sheldon St., Prescott, Ariz., 86301; or to the YRMC Foundation, 1031 Willow Creek, Prescott, Ariz., 86301 in Owen's name.
