The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, October 23, 2006 Sue Hawes (Wilson) Abbey, beloved sister, mother, grandmother and friend has passed away. She was 72. Sue was born in Phoenix, Ariz. July 18, 1934. She died peacefully on Oct. 15, 2006, in Phoenix, with, her family at her side. Sue was raised in Phoenix and received a Master's Degree from Arizona State University. She moved to Prescott in 1977, and was the first professional archivist at Sharlot Hall Museum. She made Sharlot come alive in her many inspiring presentations. She loved the museum and being with her co-workers. Sue was a volunteer with CASA and touched the lives of many children and parents throughout the Prescott area. Sue loved to fish, attend Arizona Diamondbacks games, read and spend time with her family and friends. She will be missed for her humor, her loving and giving personality and for her appreciation of her many friends. Sue is survived by her sister, Carey Joab; her son, William Abbey; and grandson, Paul Abbey. A private celebration of her life will be held in Greer, Ariz. (her favorite place).
