HALFORD, SR., John Wesly


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, October 23, 2006 John W. Halford died Oct. 18, 2006, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 5, 1919, in Oney, Oklahoma; the son of Joseph Giles and Ola lone (Braswell) Halford. John was 87 years old. John had been a long haul truck driver in his younger days, but he embraced the passion of his life, motorcycles, when he owned the Yamaha dealership in Glendale, Arizona. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Phoenix and the Sons of the American Legion in Yarnell. John is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons John Wesly, Jr. (Carol) and James Wayne; daughter, Jacuelyn (Al) Tellis; sister Juanita Avery; grandchildren Billy Gene, Stoney, Devoney Kay, Shanie, Jennifer and Jamie; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Arcola, and sons Billy Gene and Thomas Edward. Private cremation at Bradshaw Crematory with inurnment in the family plot at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Phoenix. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
