Carmen Virginia Brown was born on March 3, 1918, and died on November 15th, 2011. Throughout her life, Carmen was characterized by her love for others. Her open heart and open home touched the lives of many. She had a gift for bringing friends together, and sometimes played the part of matchmaker for those close to her.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and friend, she was a talented portrait artist and interior decorator. Over the years most of her friends received humorous caricatures of themselves as gifts from Carmen, who a knack for capturing the very essence of a person in her own lighthearted way. Carmen had a passion for gardening, and particularly loved her roses.
She was a devoted follower of Christ who loved to share her faith with those around her. A favorite passage was John 14:2-3 "In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, here you may be also."
Carmen is survived by her three sons, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service was held Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA
