KILKER, Robert Bowen

West Valley View, Avondale, AZ November 04, 2011 Robert Bowen Kilker, 65, of Litchfield Park died Oct. 28, 2011, after an eight-year battle with cancer. Mr. Kilker was born Dec. 6, 1945, in Denver, and was the fourth generation on the family farm in Louisville, Colo. He taught junior high science in Colorado, and moved to Phoenix in 1975, where he was principal at Tolleson High School, Wickenburg High School and Maricopa High School. He returned to the classroom in 1995 at Carl Hayden High School in the marine biology program. The following year, he began teaching science at North High School, where he was also science department chair for many years. He retired in 2010, and was a leader in Boy Scouts. He is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, JohnPaul and Bowen; and one daughter, Lisbeth. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the family's home.
