Matthew Elliot Laxton (Matt), age 67, of Anderson, CA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 14, 2011, surrounded by his family in love and peace. Matt courageously fought Multiple Myeloma since February 2011 and lost his battle.
Matt was born February 29, 1944, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, to Samuel Edgar Laxton and Easter Jennett (Caldwell) Laxton. Matt was a mining engineer. As a child his father brought him to the mines and as Matt grew, mining was in his blood. It was often said he had something special on getting to and finding the right ore. The Red Bluff Mine outside of Wickenburg, AZ was in the family from 1910 through the early 1990's. Matt also had several mining operations in Arizona and Nevada. Matt worked as Pit Boss in several casinos in Lake Tahoe, Reno, Las Vegas and Laughlin. He volunteered for the National Forest Services and helped with many projects in the Prescott and Flagstaff area.
Matt loved Jesus and shared his story with all. Matt said "We're all human, we all have things we did, that we can't change, but with Jesus, he helps you heal, forgive and move on to help the people you can and need to."
Matt is Survived by 5 children, Doug Troy Rogers of Las Vegas, NV, Carol Sue Laxton of Casper, WY, Mary Ann Laxton of Noel, MO, Madelene Colleen Laxton of Anderson, CA, Sandra Marie (Darren) Deich of Baraboo, WI, 19 grandchildren P.J., Torin, Brandon, Daniel, James, Justin, Miriam, April, Isabella, Tony, Luke, Angelica, Danielle, Frankie, Jarrett, Cheyenne, Austin and Jacob, and 13 great-grandchildren, two brothers Samuel (Diane) Laxton and Thomas (Joann) Laxton, Daughter Kris Rogers, two sons Rob and Eric, Sisters, Nelda (James) Upshaw and Veta (Steve) Malicoat and brother David Laxton.

Matthew 25:40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
