Ernest "Jim" Baughn, age 83, of Prescott, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at his home following a brief illness. He was born April 27, 1923, in Dupo, Ill.
Jim and his deceased wife, Regina, moved to Prescott from Camarillo, Calif., in December 1979. For many years they owned and managed E. J.'s Gemcraft on Whiskey Row in Prescott.
Jim is a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer and served with distinction during World War II and the Korean War.
Jim was a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and received acknowledgement of 50years of service as a Master Mason in 2003. He was a member of Joplin. Mo. Lodge No. 335.
Jim is survived by his loving son, Gary Baughn of Austin, Texas; his sister, Hazel Martin; and brother, Robert Baughn, both residents of Missouri.
Jim will be laid to rest at the Point Loma, Calif., Veteran’s Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to Hospice of the Pines Foundation at 13175 East Highway 169, Dewey, Ariz., 86327.

The memorial service for Jim will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at the Hampton Funeral Home, with Chaplain Walt Crites officiating from Hospice of the Pines.
