Don Vincent Williams died on Nov. 15, 2011, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott, Ariz. He was born Oct. 29, 1927, in Los Angeles, Calif.
Don was a proud veteran of World War II. He served with the 504th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, and earned a Victory Medal. After the war he was employed by the United States Forest Service in Hamilton, Mont., where he supervised ranger stations and firefighting. He developed a deep appreciation of and emotional attachment to the northwestern states, in particular Idaho and Montana, where he collected memorable experiences. He enjoyed his retirement years in the Prescott area, where he was an active golfer.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Marina; his stepdaughters Martha Lasso (Carlos A.), Cristina Grenier (Rollie), Bea Sandoval (Alfonso), Constanza Beebe (Mike); and grandchildren Gabriel, Sebastian, Samuel, Sarah S., Sarah E., Alejandra, Seth and Christie Ann.
Don was preceded in death by sister Sue and brother Victor.
We wish to thank the Veterans Administration of the "Heroes Hospice" unit for their great and kind care to ensure Don's comfort.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at the Prescott VA Chapel.
