Richard Angelo Morganti passed away on May 19, 2007, in Prescott, Ariz. Richard was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. He moved to Kansas and lived in Wichita, where he received his Bachelors degree from Wichita State University. He then received his Masters degree in rehabilitation at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz.
He married his longtime sweetheart, Elizabeth, and had one wonderful daughter, Elizabeth Carolyne Cole.
Richard retired from Tucson Unified School District where he had worked for 34 years. He and his wife moved to Prescott, Ariz., where they had lived for the past four years.
He enjoyed many outdoor activities, camping, boating, traveling, fishing, hiking and hunting. Richard always enjoyed talking to friends, sharing stories, laughing and being a good friend to many people. He was never a stranger to anyone.
Richard is survived by his wife Liz; his daughter and son-in-law Cari and Patrick Cole; and his two beloved grandchildren Emily Anne and Elijah Joseph Cole. Also, his lifetime best friend was Billy Dane Orcutt. Richard has an extended family and a large circle of friends that will deeply miss him.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at Mt. Carmel Church on July 7, at 10 a.m. in Niagara Falls. A private family Mass was in Prescott.
The family asks that donations be made in Richard's name to his favorite charity in Tucson; Casa De Los Ninos. Richard worked closely with this organization, which helps children in crisis, many times in his years with Tucson Unified Schools.
