PRUS, F. Vincent

West Valley View, Avondale, AZ July 06, 2010 F. Vincent Prus, 83, of Naples, Fla., and formerly of the Litchfield Park area died June 15, 2010, at the Cove at the Marbella in Naples. Mr. Prus was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Sewickley, Pa., to Mark and Mary. He graduated from Ambridge High School as valedictorian. He married Catherine F. Dumesic, whom he met in high school. He served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, where he received a degree in electrical engineering. He attended Stanford University's graduate school of business executives. He was plant manager at Goodyear Aerospace Corp. from 1965 to 1972. He retired after working 42 years for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., where he rose to executive vice president. He was a member of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. board of directors and served as president of the Goodyear Aerospace Corp. He was a member of the A Club at Naples and the Royal Poinciana Golf Club in Naples. He was a member and past president of Portage Country Club in Akron, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Catherine F.; two daughters, Cathy Prus Eldridge and Lina Prus Merriman; two sons, Mark J. and Dave; three sisters, Lorraine Laux, Carolyn Westman and Jean; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was celebrated June 19 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples. Memorials may be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
