West Valley View, Avondale, AZ July 06, 2010 William Roux, 93, of Waddell, died June 26, 2010. Mr. Roux was born April 1, 1917, in Columbus, Ohio, to Ellen Ione (Hess) and Clarence McBroom. As a child, he lived in Arizona and California. He graduated from Whittier High School in Whittier, Calif. He graduated from Pasadena City College and attended what is now UC Santa Barbara. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in Panama. After Pearl Harbor, he joined the Navy and served for three years during World War II, stationed in Okinawa and Hawaii. He married Marie Kochman in 1944. He worked various jobs, including loading box cars, accounting and construction estimating. He moved back to Arizona in 1969. He worked for a pipe company and as a safety engineer and consultant. He retired in 1999. He is survived by one daughter, Robyn. Services are at 11 a.m. today at American Legion Post No. 61, 35 N. Dysart Road in Avondale. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post No. 61 Honor Guard, 35 N.
