Prescott - Services for Mrs. Karen Marie Johnson Calvert, 83, who died Monday at Whipple Veteran’s Administration Center, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Ruffner Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso.

Mrs. Calvert was a nurse and served as an Army nurse in World War I with two years service.  After the war she was a nurse with the newly created Veterans Administration and was with it from 1921 to 1956.  She had served at Whipple from 1934 to her retirement in 1956 and made her home in Prescott all that time.

Survivors include two nieces out of state and a half-brother in Denmark.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ruffner Funeral Home.
