Antoinette "Toni" Grotte, 63, of Prescott, Arizona, died Saturday, December 2, 2006. She was born in Los Angeles, California on July 23, 1943.
Toni grew up in Whittier, Calif., attended Cal High, was involved in Student Congress, hi-jinks, Waihini Girls Club and was nominated for Homecoming Queen. Shortly after graduating, she married her high school sweetheart, Dave.
Toni was employed by Home Savings but quickly became an entrepreneur and started up "The Key Hole" men's clothing store along with handling all the books and partnering in Dave's business, Western Auto and True Value Hardware. Never afraid of hard work and venturing out, Dave and Toni, at a young age, also invested in real estate. Semi-retirement brought them to Prescott, Arizona, in 1996 and funded (the birth of) "Valley Oak Properties."
Toni enjoyed tennis, bowling, water and snow skiing, golf, dancing, friends and especially family. She rode 37 U.S. states behind Dave on their motorcycles.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years Dave; father, Marty Langdon; daughter and son-in-law, Shelli and Ron Pettit; grandsons, Josh and Ryan Pollack; sister, Linda Grace; and brother, Randy Langdon.
Westside Christian Church is where she worshipped and was on the prayer team.
