Marjorie A. Carey of Tempe, AZ, passed away on January 25, 2004, at the age of 70.
Marjorie was born December 9, 1933 in East Liverpool, Ohio, and moved to Tempe in 1972 after 17 years in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
Her parents, Edward C. Edgar and Hilda Mae Hoff Edgar, precede her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 49 years, Edward Carey; her children Beth Carey (Leslie Carlson) of Tucson, AZ, Scott Carey (Yoko Ura) of Soka, Japan, and his sons James and Adam, and Mark Carey of Princeton, NJ, and his daughter Emily; her brother E. Charles Edgar (Regina) of Pinetop, AZ; two nephews, Michael Edgar (Cindy) and their children Jacque and Shane, and Paul Edgar (Shelly) and their daughter Grace; and many more Carey family members.
Marjorie was a 1954 graduate of The City Hospital of Akron School of Nursing. She spent her career as a Registered Nurse in diverse settings including hospitals, senior citizens programs, and camps, but nothing brought her more delight than her years with the Phoenix Boys Choir as nurse for camps and tours that took her to Europe, Asia, and across the USA.
A memorial service for Marjorie was held on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Dayspring United Methodist Church, 1365 E. Elliott Road in Tempe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Phoenix Boys Choir, 1131 E. Missouri Ave., Phoenix, AZ, 85014, to be used for scholarships. Carr Tenney Mortuary.
