Louise McDaniel Dies; Civic Leader in Prescott
Prescott-Memorial Services for Louise Nelson Fagerberg McDaniel, 61, who died Wednesday in Yavapai Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St Luke's Episcopal Church.
Private entombment will be in Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum.
Mrs. McDaniel was a member of a pioneer Arizona family. Her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Nelson, came here from Canada in 1894. Her mother and father, Amy and Dixon Fagerberg, were prominent members of the Prescott community. Her husband, Charles E. practiced law here from 1936 until his death in 1970.
She was a graduate of Castilleja School for Girls, attended the University of California at Los Angeles, and Chouinard School of Art. She was a member of the church and active in St Mary's Guild. She was a charter member of the Gray Ladies; active in the Girl Scouts of America, in the Daughters of the British Empire and the Alta Vista Garden Club. She was on the board of the Prescott Historical Society and was vice president and a member of the board of Sharlot Hall Museum.
Mrs. McDaniel was involved in the community concerts and was a member of the Mountain Artists' Guild.
Survivors include her children; Mrs. Amy Bartylla and Charles E. Jr.; a brother, Dixon Fagerberg, and six grandchildren.
