The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, November 1, 1974 Rev. Douglas Perkins Dies in Denver Hospital Douglas H. Perkins, minister for the past two years here at Mount Vernon Street Church of Christ, died Wednesday (Oct.30) at Swedish Hospital in Denver after sustaining a heart attack, according to information received today from a church spokesman. Mr. Perkins was on vacation in the Denver area when he had the attack earlier this week. He was born Feb. 12, 1909 at Stantonville, Tenn. He came to Prescott as pastor of the Church of Christ in Sept. 1972. Survivors are: his widow, Lavina of Prescott; two sons, Perry of Castle Rock, Colo. and Clyde of Nashville, Tenn; a daughter, Rachel Clanin of Great Falls, Mont; seven grandchildren; a brother, C.T. Perkins of Ardaman, Miss. and a sister, Jo P. Hunt of Harriman, Tenn. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday (Nov.2) at South Denver Church of Christ, 2005 S. Lincoln St., Denver, Colo. Burial will be at chapel Hills Cemetery at Denver. The family requests contributions be made to Mountain State Children's Home, Longmont, Colo.
