October 24, 1928 PIONEER OF MAYER DIED BY ACCIDENT CORONERS VERDICT MAYER, Ariz. - Oct., 23 - John Robert Wells, pioneer resident of Mayer, died here today as a result of shotgun wounds said to be inflicted by himself. A coroner's report said the death was of an accidental nature. Wells was 73 years old and lived in Mayer for the past 50 years. He came here from Nashville, Tenn. For the past 15 years he had been an invalid. He leaves a widow and three daughters, all of Arizona including Mrs. A. W. Marshall of Prescott. He leaves two sons, Fr. George Wells of Taft, Calif., and R. M.
