PERRY,
Shawn
The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/02/2011
Shawn Perry, 39, of Safford (originally from Taylor) died Nov. 23, 2011, due to a tragic airplane accident which occurred just east of Phoenix. On board the same aircraft, and also lost to us, were his three children, Morgan who was 9 years of age, Logan, 8, and Luke, 6.
Shawn is survived by his parents, Leon and Sunny, of Grangeville, Idaho (formerly of Taylor) and his brother Troy. The children are survived by their mother, Karen.
Shawn was beloved of his family as well as to a host of others whose life he touched in so many ways. He was a devoted father to his three children who have now joined him in the warm embrace of our Father in Heaven. Shawn’s strength of character and courage was evident in all his children. The young boys bravely supported their older sister as Morgan struggled from birth with a severe medical condition. Morgan’s great courage could be seen every day as she worked to overcome her impairments. Although we shall miss them all more than words could ever express, we take great comfort in the fact that all four of these precious children of our Heavenly Father are now at peace.
Two memorial services will be held in tribute of the memory of Shawn and his beautiful children. Leon and Sunny Perry will honor their son and grandchildren at a Traditional Memorial Service to be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 745 N. Val Vista Drive, Mesa, AZ 85205. Of course flowers are welcome, but should friends so desire, the family has designated the Make a Wish Foundation (www.wish.org) for contributions.
Karen Perry will honor her children and Shawn during A Celebration of Life Memorial Service to be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the Foothills Baptist Church, 6338 S. Kings Ranch Road, Gold Canyon, AZ 85118.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that a toy or children’s book be brought to the service which will then be delivered to those in need throughout the community.
