DUNBAR, Frieda


Frieda Dunbar, 82, of Phoenix, went to be with Jesus on January 31, 2004. She was born in the Netherlands on August 11, 1921. She lived in Cadillac, Michigan until moving to Phoenix in 1959. She loved life and cherished the smallest details that most people take for granted; always quick to point out a particular flower, bird or color that caught her eye. A stay at home mother of 6, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and quilting. She also loved to work on her photo albums and spending time with family. A born again Christian, she loved studying and discussing God's word. She was dearly loved and will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her son Henry John Dunbar and is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Howard H. Dunbar. She is also survived by her 5 daughters, Lorraine Kohls, Linda Ringler, Rosemary Fisher, Kathy Sloan and Joy Fogg, 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation and Funeral Service was held at Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road. Interment at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 6215 E. Arbor Ave., Mesa, AZ 85206. Published in the Arizona Republic on 2/3/2004.
