Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Thursday, December 1, 2011 - Eleanor Ecker passed away Nov. 28. 2011 at home in Lake Havasu City with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was 99. She was born June 1, 1912, to Robert J. and Ina MacDonald in Sebeka, Minn. She was raised in Yellowstone Park, graduated from Park County High in Livingston, Mont. She then attended and graduated the University of Montana, Missoula, Mont. She moved to Helena, Mont., in 1934. She retired in 1977 from Galusha, Higgins and Galusha. She was active with the St. Helena Cathedral in Helena, Mont. She moved to Lake Havasu to live with her youngest daughter, Barbara, and was active with the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Eleanor is survived by her son, Robert C. Ecker, of Montana; daughters, Susan E. Sokolich and Donna C. Stradley, both of Washington, and Barbara Piekaar, of Lake Havasu City; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas J. Ecker; and parents, Robert and Ina MacDonald. A memorial service will take place Friday, at 11 a.m., at the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Interment to take place at a later date in Helena, Mont.
