Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Thursday, December 1, 2011 - Karl Kroeger passed away in his home Nov. 30, 2011 with his wife, Kathy, at his side. He was born in Essex County, Mass., Jan. 4, 1940, to Frederick and Catherine Kroeger. He worked as a Mercedes mechanic and later on, an auto dealer in Connecticut. He and Kathy moved to Arizona 20 years ago and they owned K&K Auto until they retired in 2008. Karl is survived by his wife, Kathy Van Deusen-Kroeger; his daughters, Cathy (Nelio) Rodrigues, of Connecticut, Monica (Gary) Faraci, of Connecticut; and stepdaughter, Greta (Carl) Samuelson, of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren, Nicole, Andrea, Dylan, Christina, Sage, Simon, Maisy and Hanna; brothers, Robert (Genette) Kroeger, Retired United States Navy Chief, and John Kroeger; brother-in-law Al Bishop; niece, Joan (Paul) Fassler; and nephew, John Bishop. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, May Bishop, who he loved dearly. Karl loved 4-wheeling in the desert with his friends, boating and traveling. One of his favorite trips was with Kathy in 1987 to Hong Kong. Friends and family are welcome to come to the house Saturday, in the afternoon to share memories between 2 and 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Veteran’s Administration or Hospice of Havasu in Karl’s name.
