Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Thursday, December 1, 2011 - Dale Patrick Burke passed away Nov. 27, 2011 at his home in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 69. Rick, as he was known to his family and many friends, was born on April 16, 1942, in Huntington Park, Calif., to Milton and Carrie (Smith) Burke. Rick moved to Lake Havasu City eight years ago from Parker, Ariz. Prior to living in Parker, Rick resided in Vista, Calif. Rick worked for the Los Angeles County Fire Department for 35 years, retiring as a firefighter specialist. Rick enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time boating and exploring the desert. He was a member of the Havasu 4-Wheelers and the Sidewinders. He was also a member of the Elks. Rick is survived by his mother, Carol Smith, of Lake Havasu City; sons, Jeff Burke and his wife, Paula, of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Jim Burke and his wife, Sharon, of Wilton, Conn.; daughter, Jennifer Burke of Lake Havasu City as well as his grandchildren Ryann, Justin, Taylor, Connor and Mikayla.
